Agree or not, but didn’t we always hated typing lengthy passwords each time we had to log in to any account? So much of unnecessary hassle! Well, thanks to macOS Catalina for extending support for biometric authentication which proves out to be a great relief. You can now use your Apple watch as a biometric authentication tool, and by double-tapping, on the Apple watch screen, you can make any changes in the Settings without having to type the entire password.

To do so, head on to Settings> Security and Privacy, and enable the “Use my Apple Watch to unlock apps on my Mac” option. So, just by tapping on your watch screen, you can verify your authentication with the help of your Apple watch. And you know what’s the good news? Apple has announced that they will soon extend support for third-party app’s authentication as well so that we never have to type lengthy passwords again.

Unfortunately, macOS Catalina doesn’t feature iTunes anymore! Wondering how you will copy your files and data to other iOS devices? Well, you can always use AirDrop to transfer large-sized files, but there’s always an option to set up a wired connection between your MacBook and iPhone. Simply connect your iOS device with a lightning cable to your Mac and open finder. In just about a moment, you will find your iOS device’s name on the left column of the Finder window. Tap on it and from here, you can easily copy your data to an iOS device just how you did on iTunes.

Picture in Picture

With macOS Catalina, you now get picture-in-picture support for playing videos. Enabling picture-in-picture mode is pretty simple. All you have to do is, right-click on the video and tap on “Enter Picture in Picture” to float the video playback on any window you’re working on. So, in just one click you can make any video turn into PIP (Picture in Picture) mode easily. Earlier this feature was available on Safari, but with macOS Catalina, the QuickTime player also includes this added functionality.

So, in case you haven’t noticed, you can now right-click on any file and tap on the “Remove Download” option. Doing so will remove the file from your Mac without deleting it from iCloud. You will still be able to view a preview of the deleted file, but it won’t take up any extra space on your Mac.
